Deck pad...
« on: March 11, 2015, 06:09:36 PM »
Hey guys...

Looking for some resources for SUP traction pads. I recently had a custom made by infinity (thanks to the direction of some of you guys) but looking for a deck pad that fits the color scheme. OAM doesn't have anything that fits. Also tried the hydroturf route. Is there another deck pad company that you guys use and trust? Thanks!

Deck pads are pricey. There was a guy (and may still be) selling the FCS dot pads on ebay for $60. I bought a few. I've ordered some off of aliexpress, but you have to wait two weeks to 30 days. Good luck. If you find a better, less expensive source, please let us know.

Seadek, a little pricey, but good colors and they don't absorb water!

Anyone used or heard about this one? It looks sick but heard it might be slippery?

Slippery. I just bought the same one but it's the D. Boehne signature pad. Same layout but uses the raised diamond pattern that OAM used to use. Word on the street is that OAM is coming out with new pads this summer that use the hole design but with the raised diamonds. I got mine at Infinity, there was only 1 left but they may have gotten more in since then, it was a couple weeks ago. Now I just need my board to be ready!

The Seadek works well for me, grippy but not rippy. What I mean is some pads will really rip up your skin if your are trunking it for example. Some give you foot cramps or fatigue your toes etc. That goes away if your wearing booties of course or a wetsuit.
There is a $59.00 on Amazon that my wife has on her board. It is soft, light and easy on the ski with good grip!
