Lovely, ahem, pit toilets.  Nicer than some, but still pretty nasty.

As long as you don't get back up with stinging red ants crawling all over your ass.  That happened to me once.

Just got a confirmation from two other friends that have gone with me in past years.  They are unsure if they will SUP or kayak, but they are going.  That puts us at 4 SUPs, 5 kayaks, 2 undecided over SUP or kayak.  That's 11 people.  I think we will max out at 14, so there are a few spots left.

Hey Zooport, sounds like it's going to be a great trip Santa Cruz Island is a special place for sure. As for a private boat goes I recently got a 25' Skipjack that lives close to Channel Islands harbor. After we get some details worked out like overhead board rack etc. I would be up for a few surf charters when conditions are right. The boat cruises at 24-26 kts. tops out at 30 so quick out and back- more time in the water. Should be ready for this summer. T  8)

I was told over thr phone that we would be on the 9:00 boat

Yeah, the actual boat we take over there is not that critical.  They run up to three boats over there on Fridays; early morning, mid morning and late morning, depending on how many customers they have going over there.  It doesn't really matter which one you take, but the earlier ones will give you more time to set up camp.

We currently have 6 SUPers and 4 kayakers going on this trip so far.  There is room for several more people if anyone is interested.  The more people that go, the more fun the trip is.  This is a non-profit trip, so you pay only for the ferry over to the island and split the camping fees.  I don't make any money from it, but I have a blast along with everyone else.

Fishing:  I forgot to mention that there is some pretty good fishing pretty close to our camp.  I've caught some delicious calico sea bass in years past.
