Has anyone seen a good rack on a newer tundra? I just bought a truck yesterday and will need something soon! I really like the Thule sup rack on my defender so that would be best. I just need to work around keeping my lockable toolbox where it is. Thanks as always

I have the XSporter system on my Tundra. I have the Toyota rail system, the Thule adapters for the rails are another 50 bucks but I can mount the racks pretty much anywhere. Should give you plenty of room for your tool box. They are expensive but worth it. I met a kayaker awhile back that said he'd had his for ten years and they looked almost as good as my new ones.  Autoanything.com is a good place to look, way cheaper than anywhere else I have seen. Mine shipped with the adapters was 550.

Glad to help, I really like mine.  If you don't already have tie down stuff you might look into Inno 446 board carriers and Thule Express straps. Amazon knocks the Innos down to half off every once in a while. The express straps are by far the best non locking straps out there. Expensive but most of the good stuff is.  Be safe

I had a great sesh with PDLSFR in RI before our Nor'easter blizzard. I got out of the water around 1:30  when the snow started to fly and this is what I awoke to this morning.
My 2005 Chevy Colorado, with a rebuilt engine added @ 193,000 miles. The extended cab is great for gear and leaves a decent sized bed for my reclining beach chair. Its great for staring out at the ocean and enjoying a post sesh beer with some good music, or waiting for the tide to change and checking out bikinis, again, with some good music.

sup-romer, How does that Starboard Fisherman inflatable paddle? I've been considering an inflateable to fish with and wondered if it would double as a board to tour and just paddle around in ICW for fun. THANKS

I don't have a lot to compare it to. My previous board was a surftech 11'6" universal. It doesn't seem any slower maybe even a bit faster. I can take myself, and  my wife and go for a 5 mile paddle. My dogs likes to ride along as well. When I travel two up my wife sits up front on the dry bag. In back I've got a camera case strapped down and a polarbear cooler.

I can say for sure I'll never go back to a standard board. Inflatables are just too convenient. I live in an apartment and store it in my bedroom. Taking it in and out of the house I probably bang it off 8 walls. With my surftech I'd wince every time. Now I don't have to worry about dings.

I usually travel with it inflated to 50% pressure on my roof rack. When I get to my location I pump it up to 20psi and take off. One time after a session that was in a kinda crappy neighborhood. I wanted to try a new restaurant but  I was worried about leaving the board on the roof...then it hit me...duh! I just deflated it and put it the extended cab of my tacoma. Hope this helps.

THANKS,this does help as the board I'd sell and then get the Fisherman is a Pau Hana Big Easy,11'x32". If it isn't much slower than your Surftech I might get one this spring. I too love the inflatables. I have a 12x20 building and a 12x24 screen porch to keep boards on but inflates are much easier to load and unload and transport to any destination. I've replaced one hardboard with an inflate and I'm trying to replace my other 3 hard boards with inflates gradually as the technology improves.

I haven't got it just yet, but just think of the possibilities of entering hostile ground armed with a friend and two stand ups.

That is ALOT of stokin' vehicles! I only looked at the first two pages. Here's mine, 2008 Honda Element. BEST surf SUV for me ever. Camped out in Rhode Island.

One could go into a mall in Kansas and ask a teenager "What is a surfer looking for?, and the answer will always be, "The perfect wave"

2010 Element 4WD. Great surf vehicle...
It's not overhead to me!
8'8" L-41 ST and a whole pile of boards I rarely use.
