Zoner meetup #2 at Trails Report

We had at least 9 Zoners out at trails, maybe more, I lost track.  I can't remember everyone who was there, so maybe someone else can give us a list.  Everybody from the last meetup was there, plus at least 5 or 6 others. We had such gang out there that proners stayed clear of us, we created our own little SUP only area.  It was pretty cool.  There was a bigger crowd of proners out there this time, plus our little SUP crowd, but there were still plenty of waves for everyone. 

Surf was glassy and shape was good.  Sets were shoulder-head high, maybe slightly over on the biggest.  Really fun.  I broke a leash while taking it on the head on one of the largest sets, and was left with the drudgery of trying to swim with a paddle.  OldShool 213 was kind enough to move my paddle about halfway to the beach for me and then toss it to me.  That helped me tremendously, thanks so much OldSchool.  Got to my truck and The Kernal was just packing up to leave and gave me a his backup leash to use, so I was back in business.  Thanks so much, Kernal.

My GoPro was having some sort of issue.  I am looking at it now and hoping I have at least a few clips to show.  If I do, I'll post them.

4 of us did the mandatory stop at Pedro's Tacos for a finale to an awesome day.  Seems like every Zoner I meet is a good waterman and a pleasure to know.  Thanks so much to everyone for coming.

Sounds like a good time.  In Santa Cruz, I got directly clobbered this AM by a well overhead wave.  It nearly tore my impact vest off, it was a rousing tumble.  I left after about an hour because the proners were coming in like ants and it was just too crowded, or rather, the distribution was such that there were no clear spots for me and my fallback sites were inactive, or full of unpredictable proners.

I'm going back out in about an hour for a late afternoon twofer to see if I can find an unmolested inside break.

It was super fun and the conditions were about as good as you could ask for.  I have some GoPro footage, nothing great but hopefully I can make a short video later.  Good to meet all you guys, looking forward to the next one!

I had a great time.  Was a little big bigger than I expected but the waves had good shape and there was a nice lul between sets so the paddle out was easy.  I had to leave a litttle early so I went to Pedros by myself.

Here's the little bit of vid I got today.  My GoPro had some sort of issue with the memory card and only worked for about 20 min, so there's not much here.  It was also crooked on my headstrap.   Geeez!  Great day though, lots of great rides.  I wanted to get shots of everyone riding a wave, but I think I only got The Kernal and my follow shot of either SlatchJim or OldSchool on the green board.  Who was that?

Nice and glassy, calm offshore breeze, good size/long interval waves, great group of guys.
Who could ask for more?

Great meeting a lot of you today. I needed a good session like this in the worst way. So nice to not have to battle a crowd and still have waves that had enough size to be playful and fun while not worrying about getting mowed down.

That's a nice vid, Jay.

Waves must have been pretty big since the GoPro tends to make them look smaller.  They looked like nice open faces with some horsepower for steering.

As an aside to the whole thing understand T6 is strictly a west swell spot so summer isn't very good at all. The swell yesterday had south in it and it was evident in the vids. Crumbly and not lined up well. As summer approaches the action moves to the other trails, 1 in particular in my experience.
