It is.....
It's not overhead to me!
8'8" L-41 ST and a whole pile of boards I rarely use.

Ahhh--that makes sense. In fact I think my Superfreak sails have some.
Foote 10'4X34", SIC 17.5 V1 hollow and an EPS one in Hood River. Foote 9'0" x 31", L41 8'8", 18' Speedboard, etc. etc.

Vectra net impact resistance seems to be high, tensile strength not so much, and dent and delam not as advertised. See jarvissup observations from friends Hobie Raw.

My experience with innegra has been better than my experience with vectra net..

I believe, once again, DW has real information as opposed to innuendo and rumor.

+1 on Talldudes information and knowledge. Rail impact resistance, delam, pressure dings, impact from sharp sudden blows, catastrophic breakeage all different animals.

A heavy AST board high on all counts. A 9.7 pound Mo Freitas custom, not so much. Ya pays yer money and makes yer choice!

Is that a Hobie or a Hovie?

What is this wisdom of wise DW?

Don't really know.  However, my friend with the carbon strip rail just snapped the front 2 feet of the nose off of his 9'6.  A pretty clean break so easy fix.

Well, at 7'6 he now has a proper SIMSUP reduction  ;D

....post production asym shovel nose!!!

DW is definitely the guru of glass. I've been following his directions religiously, to the degree that I printed out a couple of PMs he sent me. My new vacuum pump follows his advice. Unfortunately he didn't tell me that oil vacuum pumps suck in more ways than one until after I bought one. That reminds me, today is ebay day.

Have been thinking of a new custom and I'll give up some durability for less weight so spend the money, vac bag s glass with a carbon deck patch in the standing area if you want some paddle protection innegra tape on the rails but the glassers hate this stuff of course you have to put it under the glass. Vector net better in sails than boards all show no go.

I'm all for tech that adds functionality (especially one with a good strength/weight ratio)

Not sure if you already saw this in the Jimmy 2015 thread but it's pretty impressive!
