Help! I'm looking for a bike trailer pic
« on: September 04, 2007, 11:20:46 AM »
Hi!

I'm sure I've seen the picture somewhere in the posts here. Can't seem to find it now though. I've gone through every post in "General...", "Gear".

Can someone point me in the right direction?

The picture is of a smart bike trailer.

Best regards

Go to www.paddlesurf.net, scroll down to the first few entries and you'll see a photo of my friend's bike trailer that he hauls his stand up board around with at Sunset Cliffs- the thing is cool!

i have found a cool method of transporting my board.  i think it is called "the mule" .  i think the company is called mule transport systems.  it works great and supposidly you can tow behind a bike.

Yeah-that's what that thing was called- that's the one I took a photo of! Great product- simple design, no solid universal joint to break- I need one for around here.

wow! that's a pretty good design.
i really like the concept if it does what i'm thinking of... (correct me if i'm wrong) is this trailer mostly of fabric construction (non solid) using the stiffness of the board to create the tensegral structure once assembled onto it? hmmmm.... it would seem that somebody is a student of buckminster fuller.

if so, and even if it's not, i think i know just how they could make this thing lockable.

I have one of "The Mule" systems. The manufacturer is barely a mile away from me. If you go to...www.muletransportsystems.com , everything you need to know is there.....Rick

yeah... thanks dude! just as i suspected. i'll approach them about how we can work in some of my ideas but we'll have to see just how amicable they are about such arrangements.

Are the axles wide enough so that the wheels don't rub against the SUP board?  It looks like it's a pretty close fit for that longboard in the installation pictures.

This one looks pretty good.  Is there a carrier that haul either a SUP board or a 60 lb canoe?  I would like to use a carrier for both crafts.

When I purchased ,mine I had him cut the axles to fit a 12' board and it was not a problem. Just specify that it will be used for a stand up paddle board. Unfortunatly, these great little trailers are built for surfboards only, not kayaks or canoes.

i'm thinking that this is worthy of the manufacturer's list if not a review by someone knowledgeable here... hint, hint, hint. maybe you can even get a little schwag from the makers for your efforts there surfpainter. i'm a just thinkin' that's all...

Thanks for the reminder, Shifter.  Done.  A review would be appreciated from one who knows.

Best,
Rand

I have the Paddle Buddy, it is for hauling canoes. It works great and can haul a SUP and another surfboard.

Patric, I manufacture the carrier you are in need of. Please check out www.muletransportsystems.com. I know you will like it. Many others have found the simple convenience the MULE provides. Let me know what you think.

Hi The Mule!

Being a bit of a tinkerer and tech geek I must say that you seem to have all bases covered.

Two questions:

1. Is it available in Europe?

2. Does the nose piece fit snugly both on a SUP board and a slimmer wave sailing board(a narrower outline, ca 22" x 7'10")?
