The Surf Indian Mission Beach

So I cruised by the space where the Surf Indian was in Mission Beach last week and apparently it’s no more.   Completely empty store space and the sign is gone.  Chris Rule was the owner.  Any San Diego peeps know happened?  It really was more of a gallery than a retail shop.  They often put on events featuring well know surf/ocean artists.  Free food and drink was usually provided.  The events were always packed but that doesn’t necessarily translate into financial success during normal business hours.  Then again that might not be why he closed.  Regardless, this was a cool shop and I’m really bummed that it’s gone.  I’m fb friends with Chris but he hasn’t posted anything since December.
