A friend just sent me a text after he saw it somewhere.
I didn't see any here after a search, but google found NOCQUA.

I'm picturing a paddle at night and bring a flounder gig 8)

Does anyone have any experience with these lights?
What I found are $350-$400

JB,
You know me and I haven't steared you wrong yet (I don't think)
Skip the lights buy a good pair of polorized sun glasses to see through the water and if you MUST (i strongly suggest not paddling at night I had a teenage girl friend (when I was a teen) die in a boating accident at night (boat she as on was properly lit and 20FT outboard)) go out at night get some good running lights

Enjoy Dude

Thanks Jim,
I get the danger part with boat traffic.
What I have in mind is early am on smooth days in the summertime Gulf of Mexico.
Near the beach it's too shallow for boats and just about perfect for flounder!

I just picked up the Noqua 2000 last week but haven't used them on the water yet. I charged the battery and turned them on and they are definitely extremely bright. They should easily shine down 10 feet or more to the bottom.

I'm sure they would be great for fishing. I've seen similar LED lights on sport fishing boats at marinas. Fish are attracted to the lights and the neat thing is that you can actually see the fish take your bait.  I've watched people catching stripers one after another under the lights.

I think these lights will add a whole new dimension to paddling at night. There is a lot of stuff to see below the surface and on the bottom at night. Salt water, fresh water, wherever the water is reasonably clear.

I'll be testing mine on the water very soon.

A SkySki buddy of mine is co-owner of that company. I see his Facebook pics all the time & it looks like they have a great time. He lives down in S Carolina & hangs out in Florida & the Keys a lot where they can get a lot of warm weather at night & use them often. Up here they would only be usable in late July & August.

I'm thinking I'll mostly be using them on the warm summer nights of July/August.

June/Sept shouldn't be too bad either. Just wear warmer clothes.

It might even be fun on a 40 degree winter night.

My wife got me the Nocqua for Christmas....haven't used them yet. I'll break them out for some night fishing and diving this summer. Pretty nice setup, very bright.

I taped on some led waterproof tea lights to the bottom of my board from ebay. I used them on a river and the results were worth the 50 cents or so invested in them. Lots of dive and waterproof lights could work. What ever happened to those guys using Kickstarter for their led paddle?

Thanks Guys

I look forward to hearing some feedback on them!

Is there anything new on the market to light up my iSUP?

The colored Nocqua seems great but it has been on the market for a while, so I'm wondering if there is anything better.

This idea seems really cool. On the other hand, I can't think of a better way to attract sharks, except for maybe actively chumming.

Dead thread resurrection. We use the Nocqua lights at the shop I work for. They are very bright. They are fun but they add a huge amount of drag and make the board TREMENDOUSLY slow. Don't expect to go very far or very fast. They do attract lots of bait fish. Kind of fun but really an overpriced novelty.
Bunch of old shit

There is another system with just one 20W LED, that might produce less drag.

But I want colors. :)

It's not the lights that cause the drag, it's the straps that hold them to the board. They flip up with every paddle stroke like brakes. It's impossible to get them tight enough to make them stay flat. They need a better design.

Ok "replace the straps with something else" if I go for the Nocqua, got it. :)

Maybe just put some V or U profile over it, should be possible to find something..
