SIC BULLET V2 14.0 vs. BULLET V2 14.0 W/ A.S.S.
« on: May 16, 2014, 03:25:57 AM »
A little confused  btw. the Bullet-V2  14.0 and Bullet-V2 14.0W/A.S.S. (both productions boards)
there is a 0,1 inch wide difference and a other description.
It sounds both having not the same rockerline, is the V2 14.0 W/ASS  a totally different board?
can someone enlighten me?

Not yet really convinced , I can demo the  Bullet 14.0 V2/ASS end next week during a big surf festival on the Baltic Sea in Northern Germany, SIC Europa is there too.
'm very curious. ;D

well then take your tape measure and look for the 1/8" difference... no difference bro. things were so much more simple when flow sports wasn't involved, and it was all Customs from Hawaii.

Does anyone know if the rudder can be locked in on the Bullet 14 V2?

i.e., fixed fin/rudder on the days you don't need the A.S.S.

Thanks

Yes it can. In the Baggie containing all the rudder pieces you get a carbon look "lock plate" and screws which can be screwed into the White nylon cable pulley and two little holes in the deck behind the rudder pulley recess. It's great if you want to lock it permanently before a race or casual paddle.
This works but I wouldn't like to have to try and use it to lock the fin if my cables snapped mid race etc.
The method that the Maui built customs use is just awesome in its simplicity and effectiveness; a simple thumb screw that is kept in a tapped hole inside the cable pulley recess and can be unscrewed and put through a hole in the cable pulley and threads into another tapped hole that locks the pulley and fin. All so easy to do by hand. :)
SIC custom hand shaped 17' x 25.5" V3 Bullet.
NSP DC 17'10" x 26" .
Starboard Ace 14 x 25".
Starboard Sprint 14 x 24".
JP 10' x 29"
Starboard Pro 8.0 x 29".
Starboard Pro 8' x 29".

Great, thanks for the reply... a pretty important feature I'd say.
