Its working great for me. however...
I was out in So.CA a couple weeks ago and tried my Twin brothers (same ht. wt.) new 7'11". Infinity Simmons and Loved It!!!

+1 for the Infinity Phoenix.  I demo'd a 7'6" x 29" x 4" (103L) v2 this last weekend and it is amazing.  It takes a little getting used to (second session was much better than the first) but once on the wave ... WOW! Like they say "believe the hype!".  I placed an order for one the next day (7'6" x 30" x 4.25", shooting for 115-120L).

For reference I am 5'8" 155lb, intermediate.

Home Break: Doheny
Tic Tac v3 (Hoglet): 6' 6" x 23" x 3.6" x 67L
Omni: 6' 9" x 23" x 3.75" x 68L
Tic Tac (OG): 7' 0" x 22.75" x 3.5" x 70L
In The Pink (Incoming): 8' 0" x 22.9" x 3.25" x 70L

Blackproject Surge S77 (Soft Flex Shaft, T-Grip, +0" OH)

My trail of used boards includes 12'6 starboard my first, then a 10'6 Naish, then a 9'8, 9.0 and 8'5 starboard fish and then my almost favorite 8'5 wave pro I used for 3 years and now my 8'2 infinity team label all carbon version.

I enjoy the tl now and will for a while. It performs a little better them the 8'5 pro. I weigh 190 lbs and wear a wetsuit
mostly year round. I have been surfing since I was a grom and hope to keep it up till 6' under as an old old guy.
I am into performance surfing. My boards fit my style and conditions that I surf.  Of all the different types of wave riding equipment I have surfed on sus is the best.  I would like to try a smaller board and some of you in this thread make be believe I can. Maybe next year.

I only keep two boards at a time due to funds and to place a limit on my insanity (always wanting new boards)...  Currently I have an 8'11" Dave Craig that's a good all-conditions board plus the five boxes let's me play around with different fin setups.  I just sold a 7'10" 127L SIMSUP S4 - it was by far my favorite board to date because it was so fast and fun to surf.  It was just too much work for me at 230 lbs in choppy conditions so I sold it in order to fund another one that's a bit larger at 8'4" 137L; hopefully it arrives soon!

In the past 2 years, I have transitioned from a 9'6" x 32" Blair, to an 8'10" x 30" (138 ltrs est.) Blair.  And recently picked up a Kings Sidewinder 8'10" x 30.5"(126 ltrs).  The Sidewinder shape is much more pulled in at tip and tail and has a lot more rocker in the nose and tail.  It turns like nothing I have surfed before.  The 8'10" Blair was fun, but the Kings Sidewinder is like riding my shortboard.  Even my son liked it.  He is an avid shortboarder who gets bored with SUP.  But he really liked the Sidewinder.

Then last week I picked up a Kings Crossover 8'6" x 29" and thin (118 ltrs).  I haven't surfed the Crossover yet, but I took it on a two mile paddle in windy and choppy (boat chop) conditions in my backyard (Calif Delta)   I am 200lbs and the board is about 80% underwater, but feels very stable.  Cannot wait to get it in the waves.

I tried several other boards in the past 6 months and prefer a traditional shortboard surf shape over the Simmons style boards.  I did have fun on a small L41, but like the pulled in designs more.

Once you go short you won't go back.
8'5" Starboard Pocket Rocket, 8'0" Kazuma Fugu custom,  8'10" Kings Sidewinder, 10' Starboard Noserider, 14' BARK Carbon Dominator, SIC F16 V3, KeNalu and Quickblade paddles, 19' Eaton Prone, 67" Goode 9700

Like Lopezwill, I'm 225lb and also ride aPSH 12' gun. I also have both the 9'8" & 9'0" Starby Pro 2014 in brushed carbon. These pretty much cover all bases, however ill probably be grabbing an 8'8" or 8"3" Naish x32 in the next couple of months.

Just to be sure all bases are indeed covered. ;D

Sup surfing board designs have slowed down a little and I'm curious what boards you have settled into riding and why?  I've spent a lot of money in the last four years on boards looking for that "Holy grail" of a sup.  As a heavyweight 225 lbs I believe it's harder to find a "Do it all" sup surfing board off the rack compared to a sup surfer under 190.  I guess I'm still looking.

I have a 8'10" L41 Simsup @ 33" across and a 12 foot PSH gun.  These two boards get me through mostly all the surfing conditions I get here in central California.  I'm seriously looking at the Fanatic 9'6" Pro wave (or something like it) but waiting to get some rider reviews from heavyweights.

I like the PSH for large waves, really small waves and cruising in the ocean or lakes.  The Simsup is really fast and a whole different type of ride compared to the PSH.  The Simsup excels on point waves!  Both are made well and don't ding easy…which I really like.  Right now those are my two.  What are you riding and why?
