Go pro help
« on: February 24, 2014, 09:48:56 PM »
Does anyone have the scoop on go pro editing software for dummies  - like me? I just need a simple editing program to download footage from the camera, accomplish some basic editing, then export to a storage file. It's got to be easier than the last two hours I just wasted with the Cineform free edition as it froze, shut down, and never did the same thing twice.
I am working with a brand new top of the line Mac book pro so it's not the hardware, it's just me, a liberal arts degree and a short attention span.

Doesn't the Mac come with a basic video maker program?

I have a PC and it comes with Windows Movie Maker and it works fine with gopro video and pics for basic movie making.

Sorry I can't help you with the Mac.

The  go pro studio works well. It's free from their website. I am a total newbie at it but there are some you tube tutorials for it. It's actually quite easy, did my first test edit this weekend. try it out. I am far from computer greatness and I have found it ok.

Do you have iMovie in the app section?  I have an older Mac Book Pro with iMovie.  It work good.  As stated before, there are lots of video instructions online.

Thanks guys, turns out my buddy has a 14 year old daughter who edits and posts all his go pro video with iMovie. I should have known to just ask any teenager for tech support :) She's going to give me a schooling' tomorrow. I have a fairly technical job as an international airline pilot, but this whole thing just jacked me up for some reason, maybe because I'm turning 50 really soon.
I do know that Peking and Beijing are the same thing, and Mumbai is just like Dubai only way different.
Sincerely,
Captain Sum Ting Wong
