I would say better lefts in Langosta. They are only 5 minutes away from each other. Langosta is much less crowded than Tamarindo, so it all depends on what you want and if you'll have a car etc, etc. I'm in Langosta now...:)

Check out Hacienda Pinilla. Great place! Situated on a 4500 acre ranch direcly on the coast.  Langosta Beach is located just to the north end of the northern end of the ranch.   In the past we've stayed at the La Posada Inn there which allows you beach access at the Beach Club.  Walk out behind the Beach Club and you'll find some good surf breaks. Straight out front is "Little Hawaii" which is a point break and sets up mostly as a right.  A 5 minute walk to the left (south) is my favorite - "Avellanas" .  Both rights and lefts here (I prefer the lefts) breaking out in front of a sumerged rock.  There's is a small river mouth that flows out there.  There is a security gate to get in the Ranch, hoseback riding and golf, as well as miles of beaches. Wish I was there....

Hey guys,
Is there anything I should be sure to bring along?
I'm all set to head that way at the end of the week!

I probably should go right more, my home beach break is shallow/steep for rights so I tend to avoid it. If there is a good one, IM iIN!

If you need any info or equipment while you are here in the Tamarindo region, you can check us out, Costa Rica SUP Adventures at www.costaricasupadventures.com . We'll be glad to meet you and hopefully share some waves while you are here. There should be plenty to choose on rights and lefts. I do recommend opening up to surfing both instead of feeling limited to lefts only.

Pura vida!
