race board construction infinity vs riviera

Any opinions or preferences between these two companies on a custom raceboard?

I don't know about custom Riviera's, I've only seen their production boards.  If the choice is between a production Riviera and a custom Infinity, it's Infinity by a long shot.  Their kevlar mesh construction is very durable while still keeping it light.  I like their shapes better too.  I think probably 4 or 5 of the top 10 finishers last weekend were Infinity boards.  I have a used 12'6 Infinity for sale if you want to get into one for less money.

Which very reason?

Infinity specializes in custom, while Riviera merely offers it.

Further, I'd trust Steve Boehne's 44 years of shaping experience over the big box name of Riviera.

There's a lot of business deals where the chemistry just doesn't work out. Better to end it clean than fiddle around. that said I like the Riviera guys a lot. they throw one hell of a party and they don't do the "you're cool, you're in...you're not, go away" stuff at all. Diane and I had a fine time at their BOP party and enjoyed talking to the principals.

If you wandered into the Rivera tent at the BOP and acted nice, they invited you. That's classy. Especially since it was a top shelf party.
