...and i thought you just invented barbi doll tow-in stand up paddle surfing. my dreams have been dashed into the waves of time.

Actually, I did have a small Barbi-like remote contol surfer girl at one point.  She was an import from China, and the "lost in the translation" marketing stickers on her and her board were great; "Luxurious" and "full excellence" were two favorites.  We battery powered her into some pretty impressive North shore conditions.  But the story did not end well for our luxurious lass.  On a very small south shore day, she was ripping the shorebreak with full excellence, and her slashy style must have been mistaken as signs of distress by my sister's very protective pit bull, Soboki.  The scene of those on the beach should be pictured in slow motion as they forsaw what was about to unfold:  "nnnnnnooooooo".  Soboki spared no effort to rescue the diminutive lady surfer.  Yet, the mouth of the pitbull is no place for the ROC-produced plastic surfer, and it was time to borrow the "all the kings horses and all the..." line.  We did duct tape her back together, but we could not bear to see her reduced so from her former glory, and eventually donated her to one who had not known her as she was.

My favorite thing about September is the potential for both shores to pick up fun waves.  North should see some 2-3 footers starting Saturday, and although the weather forecasters are not commenting on it yet, check out the animated map at 135 hours out http://polar.ncep.noaa.gov/waves/latest_run/enp_haw.anim.2.gif for the south shore.  Also, check the bruiser storm down OZ/New Zealand way that should kick up this swell https://www.fnmoc.navy.mil/ww3_cgi/cgi-bin/ww3_all.cgi?color=w&type=prod&area=spac&prod=sig_wav_ht

One more,

The Christmas island bouy is back up after, what, 12 years  ???.  looks fun for a good run of south swell.

Blane,

Some killer photos on this post!  THank you!

I would like to contact you directly concerning one of the stand-up boards you shaped for the SEA NYC Paddle for Autism Event.  Uncle Double D, Uncle Gerry and Andrew all cruised the event in style on those speeders you shaped.

Can you email me directly at paul.a.davis@chase.com or call on the mobile 610-724-4020 so I can reimburse you.

Darrick said to reach out to you!  I look forward to hearing from you!

Allright,

Maybe there is some reason for hope in the not so distant future:

http://polar.ncep.noaa.gov/waves/latest_run/enp_haw.anim.2.gif

Pat Caldwell is calling 10-12 feet for saturday (14 seconds).  I faintly remember something like that.  There is another one that could hit us earlier.

"The north Pacific jet stream has been steering surface low pressure systems with about a 3 day spacing eastward from Kamchatka along the Aleutians, turning more southeastward just east of the longitudes of Hawaii. This week the systems are getting stronger and the jet track is shifting southward, leading to an upward trend in surf locally late in the week. "

Fingers crossed.

So good.  First solid session for us on the upper NS (Maui) and, wake up lazy, this aint summer waves.   No crowds, makeable rights, and some good lickin's as well.

Looks like even better is on its way.

Yooowwwwww!

Just in time. Picked up a new board from Blane this evening and if it wasn't dark outside (8PM) I'd be out.

I can't go tomorrow but looks like Saturday will be good. I feel like a 6 yr old, two days out from Christmas.
