I'm still wondering if there is actually a 15.5 litre difference in volume between the 2013 and 2014 models?
Interesting. Which models are you talking about and where do the specs you are mentioning appear?

I'm talking about the stock 2014 X-14 that is officially 28.5" wide. The 2014 online catalogue on this thread shows 280 Litres of volume. The Sic Maui website reads 296 litres. Braly mentioned in his post that the information on the website is now correct, so I guess the 2014 X-14 X 28.5" has 296 litres of volume. I'm not trying to confuse people here either lol. I was told from a couple of dealers now that some volume was taken out for 2014 but the website is listing it at 296L, which is the same as last year. I'm seeing 296L on dealer websites. I'll go with that.

Well I guess at least we now know from this thread who is responsible for the distribution of contrary and inaccurate information, even if we still have questions that are unanswered.

I'd be surprised if my X14 has nearly 300L of volume. The deck cutaway extends the whole length of the standing area to the tail, and the nose is quite sleek rather than being bulbous. But I'm no expert, and it would be pretty hard to establish the correct volume myself.

Well, if the 2013 X14 actually was 29.5" wide I could see it being around that 300 litre mark :D

Curious what fin everyone has paired up to their X14's? And regarding the volume, dont think it's anywhere near the 300 mark. My Bark was pushing 280 and was way fatter/thicker than the X14.

I might try the Makani fins Kawa

a review from the makani website:

Very satisfied with fin, just the right combo of speed, directional control & stability I was looking for on my SIC X14. Had to do some sanding to fit my fin box.
