Bajasurf do you remember the big Kahuna?  He parked his RV out at the end the road and had great stories.

Hey Linter, did the swell arrive?  How is it with some waves? Where have you been surfing?

finally got some waves today -- at el faro, though, since zilch is still all that's coming into anclote.  the first time i went out at faro was about a week ago, tiny stuff, and i got hammered nonetheless.  yesterday, some of the sets were head high and everything was lining up properly and, eventho it's a right, i had fun.  i went out in the zilch in the morning, so by the time i went to faro in the evening, my legs were shot and wobbling all over place.  some funny SUPer paddled by me and said, 'hey, what's with those shivering toothpicks," or something like that, and we had a good laugh.
over the 1.5hrs, i only got about 8 waves, but some of them were pretty good, and i got a hoot or three from a few of the locals, despite that any "moves" i made were more based on just trying to stay upright than skill of any kind.
i can't wait to try some of the other spots that i didn't like during the smaller days.  i think everything here changes for the better when you get a little bit of size on it.  just hoping anclote breaks one of these days, and stinky's, especially, so i can sample the lefts there.
   thanks for asking!

Yes; N Fla is "NOT" south enough! Need to be down around Jupiter during the winter... Hey bro; I just checked out the forecast for your area (Burros on Surf-forecast.com) and you 'should' be getting some surf right now! Looks good for the next 6 days or so.
Deb and I just booked our trip at Grand Palladium/Burros for May 9th through the 18th. Have fun and save me some...   Paddle on,   JD

I'm guessing we haven't heard from you lately is because you are too tired to type from all the sup-surfing these last few days (?)... Skip Smith (fellow-sup bud from here in Jax) is on his way to Punta Mita today. Be on the lookout for him. Rides his own line of boards and is quite the ripper...   Paddle on,    JD

Hey Erik, can you post some pics of the outside of the restaurant where you are living?  We have some friends who were just there and think they know the place... They have some stories about the strongest margaritas in town....

jon; wil get some pix but, yeah, that's the place.  i'm thinking of trying to move to sayulita, though.  i need lefts with a few rights, not the other way around.

but i wont be getting nothing for a while, since i twisted my ankle exiting the surf the other day.  what a trip, man.  i don't know whether to laff or cry.

here's short vid of a few waves from yesterday.  nothing special.

Bummer about your foot, Linter - Hope it heals fast. I can pretty much promise that Burros or LL was going off the Richter if Anclote was like it was in the above vid... Ride one for me SS. I know you're there somewhere...   Paddle on,   JD

i heard that burros was insane.  my friend karen was sitting wwwway outside when a giant clean up set came through wwwway outside of her and wiped everybody up.  then 7 more waves in the set kept mowing em down.  think everyone was a little nervous after that.  glad i wasn't there!

Erik... is that the view from your room?? Yowza!

Those waves look so laid back and cruisey... wow. Great place for a really big board... just glide through the crowd and make big sweeping turns. Fun.

Hope you are in the water soon!

not the view from my room but from the palapa right over my room.  very nice.

went to sayulita today to see if i might want to move there and i just didn't cotton to the town.  much louder, much more crowded, filled with hipsters and cats w dreadlocks and traffic and it just felt sort of oppressive.  the left looked good, though, and hollow.  blown out when i was there but a couple of short boarders were ripping it up.  i mean, if lots of the locals are that good, they're really freaking good.

think i'll just stay here, where i've become friends with one of the town drunks who yells at me in spanish i can't understand and is always poking me in the chest and cackling some kind of nonsense.  my kind of guy!

post a vid of paul when you can.

I loved Sayulita in small doses.  Loved that it was so close and that you can pop in for a few hours and be gone.   Hope you foot is good and you are out there.
