Here is Ivan having some fun and experimenting with limits.  No better guy to do it.

Cameo appearances by Casey and Wes.

Maybe I will call that guy back about shaping a 7'6...

I was thinking that the shortest these boards could get is in the 8.5' to 9' range.  I was WAY off base there.

That is incredible.

I looked at the video again.  Does anyone know what kind of paddle he's using?  The top half of the shaft has a slight bend to it.  Just interested to know if this has any advantage to it.

Its a pretty paddle though.

I would assume http://www.malamapaddles.com/, but I didn't look.  Malama has that bend and it is incredibly comfortable.  Mine is one week out.

as far as i can tell from my admittedly limited exposure to sup and sup vid's, ivan is a one of a kind freak o nature in the best possible sense.  this vid and the previous one, with him doing all that great drop knee stuff, is proof enuf: the man is an sup god.

The great thing about this type of experimentation is that it challenges the status quo and keeps everyone thinking and questioning.

I remember reading that one of the first microbiologists (although they were not called that then) had originally counted 22 chromosome pairs.  His work, stating such, was published and became "fact".  So much so, that an early microscope photo was published some years later captioned, "22 chromosome pairs" (although the 23 that we now know to be "fact" were clearly present and visable for the counting).

HOLY CR&^%%P....See ya guys, I have that board and I'm taking it out right now.  Starboard Combat Aero 115L..........this was the first board I took out on flat water before I got my custom 10'6" Infinity.  What was I thinking?

NoWorriesHawaii snapped off some shots of us goofin' it in knee high conditions yesterday.  Chan is on Ivan's 7 footer testing the smallest board, smallest rider, smallest wave combo.  Ivan is on her 9'1.  Dylan was on his Jimmy Lewis longboard looking stylish.  I was on my 9'4 for no good reason (maybe if I crouch lower, I can make the wave look shoulder high).

i spy some duct tape on that remote control surf barbi...
whoever invented the hole... knew nothing.
