Surf city/Topsail Island NC

I have never been there, meeting friends that don't paddle this weekend.  Where can I put in to give them a nice place to learn?  I am only taking 2 boards so is there an especially good place to rent if we want to paddle as a group?  Any special places we should paddle because it is to beautiful to miss?
