ZZTop intro'd a cover during a concert as, " this is the guy that took us on
our first tour out of Texas," , the first cords of Purple Haze sent the crowd
wild as lightning flashed in the night sky.

A beautful cover, gets me moving.   http://youtu.be/Vh5j7zDpy-http://youtu.be/Vh5j7zDpy-4

http://www.youtube.com/embed/xs9mkVMv830. Al Green covering a classic.

Still can't get enough of Sixto.  http://youtu.be/qyE9vFGKogs
Amazing story as well.

I must be out of it.  :-\
I found this map online today that shows the most popular music artist for each state.  About 2/3 of them I've never heard of, as well as some surprises.
Jack Johnson in Wis.?
Nirvana in R.I.?
Don't even know who, or what group Bonobo is for my state.  I'd would have guessed the Dead and Phish would have been here as opposed to Vt. & N.H.
It takes a quiver to do that.

Figures that Cali would be Bonobo. I've never heard of the group either. But I have heard of the apes--which are probably most famous for sexual promiscuity.

Sexually promiscuous monkeys.  Pretty much the first thing that comes to mind when I think of California.

Naw, just old. You remember Bonobo. Not really my cup of tea but it looks like it did when we wuz but wee lads knee high to a grasshopper. Actually never heard of him/them and looked a couple of the others up too.
Heck, 2/3's?  I bet I at 3/4 or more I never heard of.

 Bonobo : Cirrus [Official Video]

Watching that reminded me of this from a few years ago. I thought this was way cool and the tune ok too.

OK Go - This Too Shall Pass - Rube Goldberg Machine version - Official

Which led me to this which I had never seen nor heard that I remember. I kinda like the tune hear too, "its got a beat and you can dance to it",  but the video pretty slick too.

OK Go - Here It Goes Again

Neil Young? Now I know why I moved. At least Oregon is some people I never heard or. I KNOW Neil Young sucks. No idea who J. Boog is either. If I were Dave Barry I'd say J. Booger and laugh like crazy.

I FOUND IT !!!
Well not me exactly, I've been trying to find out what that song is, that it used on the Vikings teaser add on the tube, with no luck.
Then last night my daughter comes walking in the room when that commercial is on, so I quickly ask her, "what's that song?".
"That's Lorde, doing Glory and Gore, everybody know that,,,,,,,,,,,,, dad!"
Okay, okay, okay, but I really like it, here it is, with great lyrics.

I like the Triple J Hottest 100.  Nice variety, changes every year.  Seems Australians know the music scene before the US does, kinda like the Cobra made boards each year.

Fall Out Boy is the #1 most popular band in Kentucky?  That’s a bit of a shocker.   And yeah Jack Johnson in Wisconsin?  Perhaps he represents and escape the same way Buffet does to Parrot Heads.  Bonobo in California I can see.   Definitely very popular in my neighborhood of San Diego.  If you like Morcheeba you will like Bonobo.

She has to be the reincarnation of Amy Winehouse and Billy Holiday.
She's 7 from Norway and simply amazing.
