Since I just purchased a single fin prone niche surfboard which should be delivered to me in the first week of July, I thought I would post this cover song below. And the video itself along with this site's watersports theme, is appropriate for what I bought for prone surfing. Just not the nose riding part.  ;)

Fun surfing and an excellent version of one of my favorite songs. I recommend the movie "Echo in the Canyon" to anyone that likes this flavor of CaliRock. Not a perfect movie, I wanted to see a lot more about Laurel Canyon and less about recording studios, but otherwise satisfying and fun.
Foote 10'4X34", SIC 17.5 V1 hollow and an EPS one in Hood River. Foote 9'0" x 31", L41 8'8", 18' Speedboard, etc. etc.

Just watched "Echo in the Canyon" on Fri nite, and I enjoyed it too.
Next on the list for that genre is ... "The Wrecking Crew"
Fanatic Allwave LTD 9'4"x33"x173L
NSP Carolina 14'x25.75"x299L
+ a few prone surfboards nobody here cares about :)

If you liked "Echo in the Canyon" in a similar vein is Linda Ronstadt's "The Sound of My Voice". What an amazing vocalist. Able to do it all, including opera and Jazz.

My cover song for today is by a local group known as Reina del Cid doing an Alison Krause song.

This live cover song is country western, but without the twang. Great song for me when I'm driving down to the upper Texas coast in the dark of morning for a little surfing. Good lyrics in this song too.

Reina del Cid (Alison Krauss cover) - "The Lucky One".

Alison, she teaches the angels how to sing.  Virtuoso on the violin, started at age 5.

edit, here's a better example of her voice.

I know this topic thread is for Cover Songs, but I'm going to throw a curve ball into this topic thread. This video below will be for a "cover dance".

And this kid's moonwalk is the best I've ever seen for anyone to impersonate Michael Jackson's signature dance move.

Brett Nichols (cover dance of Michael Jackson) - "Billie Jean"

It has been awhile since anyone has posted a cover song in this topic thread. So I thought I would post one today. But this one will be a "two for one" and I'll explain below.

In another topic thread, I started a topic on Longboards (prone) for surfing. Some on here have said they no longer prone surf anymore because of their age and other physical ailments. Supping is easier to do than prone surfing since the main problem most "older" surfers encounter when prone surfing is doing the "pop-up". No pop-ups when surfing a sup.

I watch a lot of YouTube videos and there is an Australian surfer named, Rick Wilder, who is almost 70 years old (at the time of this post) and surfs a prone longboard everyday when he can. Below is a video of him surfing some nice waves off the Coffs Coast in the country of Australia.

The music to this video is a cover song to The Beatles song, "No-Where Man" performed by the Mona Lisa Twins. Hope you enjoy the cover song and as a bonus, Rick surfing a few of his single fin longboards.

BTW, watch Rick as he does his only pop-up when he catches his first wave at the beginning of his surfing session. I basically do the same pop-up on my CJ Nelson 9'3" Parallax single fin longboard with a 9.5 Flying Diamonds "Involvement" fin.

As for me, I just turned 72 and I weigh a "massive" 148 pounds.

It has been quite a while since a cover song was posted so I thought another one is in order. Best viewed in the highest definition your graphics card (for a desktop tower) or your graphics chip (for a laptop) can handle in full screen mode.

Walk Off The Earth - "Dancing In The Dark" (Bruce Springsteen cover).

Damn, this thread can really fuck up a morning. I got up at 6:00, cooked scones and scrambled eggs for Diane and our houseguest Twila, and then intended to work on the code for the towbot. Instead, I took a quick look at the 'Zone and then pissed away my morning watching covers and going down the many rabbit holes, seeing what else the artists have done. Now it's 9:39 and I spent three hours on this. Damn. Oh well, there's going to be no wind today, so I'll probably just be at the shop, screwing up my projects. I'm getting a lot of stuff done but it seems to be three steps forward, two back lately. I spent a lot of time yesterday building batteries for the boosted foils and none of them are exactly right.

I just watched a bunch of Junior Brown videos and I'm an instant fan. I'd never heard of him until today. I normally can't stand country music but this is something different. You could call it Classic Country Revival in the same way that the Reverend Horton Heat represents the Rockabilly Revival.
