Hendrix All Along the Watch Tower.. come on.

Okay, I kind of forgot that, though Dylans version is about the poetry and Hendrix version is about the music.

My favorite is Mr. Tambourine Man. When I was a kid people would say "Why do you listen to that, the guy can't even sing." And I'd wonder WTF was WRONG with their shriveled up little souls. I heard Mr. tambourine man done as elevator music, and it screwed me up for months. I kept hearing it. It was torture.

Well, looking for some elevator music that would stick with us for months this is what I found.
If Marky is there does it count as a cover?
Less than two minutes, but if you want to be singing it tomorrow right off the bat...........about :35.

no woodstock for me, tho i was aware, spending summers nearby in millbrook, ny--the millbrook where leary and 5000 disciples set up shop for a few years on the huge mellon family estate there

cream traffic blind faith--very nice vein

played blues harp/sang in a band in HS back then--dear mr fantasy was one of our regular covers--also, of course, jumpin jack flash!

non-sequitur: read "Barbarian Days--A Surfing Life" by William Finnegan--excellent book by a writer i have read for years, but had no idea surfed--and really surfed--sent a copy to creek--he prolly shared waves with finnegan--tho likely not the drugs! seems creek dodged those bullets--or he's a warrior who won't speak of trench trauma!

forecasts for weekend are not encouraging--desperate, i will paddle for ankle-biters even

Otis Rush - I Can't Quit You Baby - Led Zep; Summertime - Janis; Robert Johnson - Crossroads- Cream; everybody stole from everybody. Played in bands until I was 50. Did the Bill Wyman, except I didn't marry a 15 year old.

My last gig was in a biker bar in Grafton. We were "asked" to play Stones tunes between the second and third sets to accompany a tattoo contest where some very large and very larger biker dudes and babes displayed their ink.

Got home at 3 am and took three days to clear the second hand smoke from my scrawny frame. The c note wasn't enough. No mas.

Played at a festival in Vermont for a few thousand very stoned hippies; we were all tripping. Jammed with a couple of the Allman's; was the token white cat in a black R & B band. Fun.. 8)  8)

Bass no guitar. On the date mentioned I was living in Allston raising my three year old daughter, and playing in bands! Too funny! As long as you were not a street racer in Maryland, then we would be worried.  8)  8)  8)

Geez, Allston. Talk about parallel tracks. Lived at 16 Allston Street, Allston until I joined the navy--the house my dad was born in. I played guitar, but never well. Motorcycles and mountain bikes of course--still do. Most of my injuries are from Hockey--of the rollerblade flavor. I didn't play much on the east coast, but I learned to skate there. Big difference is that I think I make about one and a half of you, and Bob is an even two.

Crap sound quality, but the amazing Amy Winehouse. I loved that lady. Could make bubblegum pop sound serious and soulful.

And if you're listening to Amy, you gotta listen to this:

Figure I should actually add something. I had the pleasure of viewing this live last month with my wife. My favorite band as a kid/teen (Pink Floyd, well Roger Waters) playing with my favorite band since 2000 (My Morning Jacket) covering my favorite Dylan tune (Forever young) at the venue where Dylan "went electric"! Video is a bit rough but it was an epic 1 hour 20 min set.

That's funny. I had a pal who lived on Linden, on the other side of Brighton Ave: Jack Liberty. But that would have been about 1959.
