I like the electric harps--Put a little harp between your legs. A motto for short irishmen.

Here's something clean and simple, Britni Paiva doing Carlos Santana's Eropa on a Uke.

And Maroon %'s Sunday Morning:

And Samba Pa Ti with Carlos.

Yeah, I'm a fan.

Foote 10'4X34", SIC 17.5 V1 hollow and an EPS one in Hood River. Foote 9'0" x 31", L41 8'8", 18' Speedboard, etc. etc.

Here's one to stun the tourists. Willie K's "cover" of Nessun Dorma. I saw him do this opening for some big act at the Maui Cultural Center. I damned sure wouldn't have him open for me. Tough act to follow. If you're in Maui, don't miss Willie.

And of course, Little Wing.

Sound quality on all these covers sucks because they're live and generally bootlegged through someone's iphone

Wow, Nessun Dorma--not what you'd expect.  Nobody's going to sleep through that one.

I love when musicians cross boundaries from one genre to another, for getting inspiration and especially for performing.

Was with PBill that night we saw Willie sing.  We were like WTF?  Turned out to be the best part of the night.  I hate christmas carols but when Willie does "oh Holy Night" it soars.

Why not get this thread re-started... (it's pouring where I am; no beach, no SUP  :'()

Lacuna Coil "Enjoy the Silence" (Depeche Mode):

Sarah Brightman "What a Wonderful World" (Louis Armstrong):

And just about anything by Postmodern Jukebox:

That was fun. OK, here's some obscure stuff. Tedeschi Trucks covers Sly and the Family Stone. Sound quality sucks--these guys are great.

I used this in a video I did of a Maliko run, but this is Fatal Mambo covering "In the Summertime" from the one-hit wonder Mungo Jerry.

One of the most covered songs ever is Heartbreak Hotel. there's lots to choose from, but here's Frigid Pink's version. A mediocre band from the 70's that did a decent job with Elvis.

Though it's kind of pointless to cover Elvis. Even when he's screwing around he's still the king:

Has to be the moodiest version of "You are my Sunshine" that you've ever heard.
DJ used it on one of his downwind videos.
Love it.

Love Jamey Johnson...cut out of the same cloth is Sturgill Simpson...Metamodern Sounds...been following him for awhile...he was on Letterman last night...not his best song...but, flavorful...

Great interview here:
http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/is-sturgill-simpson-country-musics-savior-not-if-he-can-help-it-20140603

Not a cover per se... because, it was one of Gregg Allman's biggest hits......but, he brings in a couple of my favs for "Midnight Rider"...Zac Brown, who I've met a couple of times and gave him a Hawaiian fish hook... and, Vince Gill really light this song up...do yourself a favor if you like good music and pick this CD/DVD up...

http://www.amazon.com/All-My-Friends-Celebrating-Allman/dp/B00IK7NC9G

On January 10, 2014, a multi-generational assortment of musicians from the worlds of rock, blues and country joined together at Atlanta's historic Fox Theatre for a once-in-a-lifetime all-star performance to pay tribute to the life and music of the legendary singer/musician/songwriter Gregg Allman.
"Midnight Rider" featuring Vince Gill, Gregg Allman, and Zac Brown, from  "All My Friends - Celebrating The Songs And Voice of Gregg Allman" Blu-Ray/DVD/CD  from Rounder Records.

For something completely different...wifey had Adele on the playlist for a recent vacation...some good tunes that worked when they were on...especially, "Rolling in the Deep"...turns out over 519 million views on You Tube...

Then along comes 10 year old Angie Vazquez out of Mexicali with this cover of it...133 million views and counting...she also covers "Let it Be" and "Time After Time"..."Blowing in the Wind"...etc...

If you didn't already know it, you'd never guess this is a Jimi Hendrix song
It takes a quiver to do that.
