I live in New Jersey and I am looking to get a board that is solely dedicated to surfing.  This will be my first SUP purchase, but I clocked some time on other people's boards.  I am pretty advanced as far as surfing (ESA and NSSA longboard competitor), and I weigh 145 pounds and I am 5'7".  I dont really want to go sub 9', but I think I would be comfortable on the above two boards.  Plus I can get the stretch on clearance for $999.  Any thoughts would be appreciated.

OK,

I would HIGHLY recomend a Fanatic 9'2 All Wave (you could easily go 8'10 or less for your size but you said you didn't want to go sub9) It is a newer design than either of the boards mentioned above. Skatey fish kinda ride that is a decent noserider.

I won the SNJ ESA SUP division last year riding a Fanatic AllWave and the NNE regional Champion also rides an all wave 8'10 as his everyday board

You can search this forum for Fanatic AllWave info (there is a lot)
lastly we can get you a killer deal on these boards right here in NJ

You can PM me or email me for more detail OR I'm in the shop weekends (I'll be a little late we have an ESA SUP contest saturday) Maybe we can set up a demo for you (since it looks like waves this weekend)

Subber

At your size and weight and experience, either of those two should be fine
based on their sizes.

As JimK says, you could easily go smaller depending upon the board.

Definitely demo if you can.
