They make it tastes so good. Then you want more because they got you addicted to the caffeine and the sugar. Bastards   >:(

I haven't had any soda in a long while. I used to love Pepsi. BBQ at my daughters last weekend and all she had was pepsi and a beer I don't care for.....the Pepsi tasted like I had died and gone to heaven... ::)

Several mexican restaurants in San diego sell the good stuff, Mexican Coca Cola  made with cane sugar. i rarely drink soft drink, but I will make an exception for one of those with a taco.

New York City limited soft drinks to 16 ounces max. but that's only fair for lightweight people.  Heavier people (at least 50% of us) are at a real disadvantage with that limit.  They need to kill those limits.  The only reason they chose 16 ounces was because that's the biggest size you used to be able to buy cups.  One restaurant in California bought those cups years ago and everyone else followed.  Next thing they'll start doing is placing arbitrary restrictions on draft beverages--women can't drink draft beverages with men, you can't mix two types at the same table, etc.

No one is saying you can't drink however much soda you want!! It is so much easier to carry and store a 16 oz soda and manufacturers need a consistent size soda for its popularity to grow. You can buy a 2-liter if you like, you just can't drink it with anyone else.

So I suppose you're saying if we want the larger sodas, we need to quit whining and start supporting them by buying them???  How are we going to do that when they don't sell them because the rules discourage them, so nobody sells them??  Plus, I think it's valid to be able to complain--it's called DISCUSSION.  Or maybe some people think we should all just shut up and drink, like branch managers.   ::)

And I think anyone who can't store anything over 16 ounces should get a bigger refrigerator, or just deal with it.  You don't see these kind of discussions about coffee or booze--those people drink whatever size they want.  They hear about the 16 ounce sodas and just shake their heads.  Especially if they imagine someone like Chuck Patterson struggling with a tiny 16 ounce Pepsi in his hands.

I guess one solution would be some sort of generic soda--one size, one flavor.  Take the flavor out of the equation!  Then everyone could afford the same soda.  Nobody could order a bigger one just because they had money to burn, and wreck the fun of everyone else.  Or get a better flavor.  Of course that's irrelevant anyway, because when those guys get tired of their expensive sodas, and want whatever the new flavor-of-the-month is, you could pick up their used sodas for cheap.  A quality used soda is a better deal than a cheap new one.  And then there's the issue that a generic 16-ounce soda may be fine if you're lightweight, but not if you're heavy.  And I say that with no animosity or concealed contempt for the lightweight.  Some of my best friends are scrawny unheavy in stature.  Also the issue that if all sodas are the same, then the only way you can make it taste better is to spend a fortune on a better straw.  Should we then regulate those?

If we switch to liters no one will know what we're talking about. We'll just tell everyone that one liter is 16 ounces. We could make the cups very narrow so they looked slim and healthy.

Everybody has their opinion, and you're all entitled. But, people like me, at my size and weight are NEVER going to drink soda or let alone BUY soda if we are forced into getting the 16 oz size. It is fundamentally unfair.  Sorry for the rant. Pdx kind of got me cranked up.

Plus the place they're getting away from is better that the places other people go to get away.

Seeing all that sugar piled up next to the coke is shocking.  I can remember how bad I felt after drinking that poison back in the day.  A can of coke didn't get me, but those big ones sure did.

I can remember how weird my teeth felt.  The phosphoric acid would do something to the enamel.  My teeth felt... sticky.
