Santa Monica race

This was a fun event I did the open age group and we had a few waves at the start solid 6 foot swell hitting. I took the video from the Quick Blade face book hope the link works. They had three starts the elite men first not much surf for them, elite women next they had a few waves. The Open third if you stop the video at 1:38,9 the guy on the orange board is EJ Johnson, stop at 1:41 look out at the yellow turn buoy you see a guy in black, then at the buoy me on a white board then I only see one other guy behind me.

The funny part was this is a traditional prone paddle board race that has been going on for years.

They had the prone guys do a water start out at the buoy because they were worried about the boards going through the surf.
