Do your JP boards have fins with no cant or toe like the one in the video? And if so, how do you like that?
My JP Surf Pro looks exactly like the one in the video...just a little longer. As I noted before on the first few waves I rode on the board I noticed the "bite" of the fins felt a little different. I made a few slight adjustments in stance and foot pressure through the turn and quickly felt comfortable with the board performing very well. At this point I am still using the stock fins. I can also attest to the board being very fast.  So far I've only had two sessions using the boards in waves of any significance. On both occasions the board worked great. It will be interested to see how it performs in good chest high+ surf....I can't wait...and I'll let you know.....Tim

So you're saying that your fins are set with no cant or toe?

is that a black bear or black panda bear?

I suppose neither...it's a Japanese mascot called "Kumamon" that represents an area of Japan called Kumamoto.  I was there a couple of months ago and he was plastered all over Japan!  http://blogs.wsj.com/japanrealtime/2012/12/26/the-life-and-times-of-japans-mascots/

Are you Japonesa?

I have the JP Wide Body Pro and wanted to ad a 5th FCS fin. I emailed JP and they suggested the location and said to use epoxy resin. But when I took it to the local "Guru" for this type of stuff, he tapped on the board and said it was hollow and wanted no part of it!
Thanks

Just a thought TomKat, It could be easier to retro a ProBox plus you would get 1/2" fore/aft adjustment.

Hollow? I thought JP's were EPS and epoxy??

All of those types of boards sound hollow.  Probably has to do with the light weight foam used and the "shell" formed by the composite sandwich.

You probably want to put the box in a high density foam and not straight into the board.  DW could probably chime in about what to use.

next week them headed to Nica on Friday-calling for large swell.....I think this board could be a game changer!

I agree, and if JP's aren't hollow, and I'm thinking they aren't, its a good thing he didn't have his board worked on by someone that thought it was hollow!

New board update....Caught another small but fun day at one of our better breaks...Some of the waves had enough juice to let the JP Surf Pro do its thing. After one particularly good wave I paddled out past a longboarder in the lineup who apparently had been watching me surf...His comment, "Boy, that's one high performance standup paddle board!"....I was smiling the rest of the session......Tim

Dave,  I looked at a 14sec interval and 5kts of wind..  'envious as hell.  Please catch a few of them for the rest of us.   ..and book Steven Spielberg's cameraman for your trip. Have fun!
