So I learnt something new today, only my 3rd ever surf on a standup...and I learnt that even 1 foot is fun!!!





And then I get back to my office and looks whats over the fence....Autumn glass!

We surfed 1 footers in Santa Barbara last weekend. My wife, daugher and I hooted like owls on expresso each time someone else caught a wave, and we had the place to ourselves.  Who cares if Barbie couldn't stand up in the tube?  We had a blast.  ...We had to do it.

Beautiful spot to paddle regardless of the size.

Sometimes its fun to see how small you can go. I've had some ridiculously long rides on 1 foot (or even smaller) waves (ripples?) that wrap around the sand bar at the mouth of a local bay. Get trimmed and ride for a couple hundred yards.....

That's what makes SUP surfing so fun.
I go out with no expectations, and tear the snot out of ripples. Meanwhile, proners sit around waiting for the set waves.

Gorgeous spot!  I paddle a lake and "surf" boat wake time to time....much to the dismay/entertainment/curiosity of boaters....but its FUN....
