Creedsup Boards in SoCal
« on: April 15, 2013, 08:05:03 PM »

Has anybody had any experience with creedsup bamboo boards?   They're on the wrong coast for a demo  but my wife is very  impressed with the weight and looks.  Prices
look better than  Costco.   I  don't see any retail outlets except their home in Chula
Vista. Thanks.

I was in the Chula Vista shop and saw Randy (the owner) take a hammer
and hit the rail of a 10'0' that weighed only 21 pounds with no damage at all.

The boards are almost as light as a all carbon one but costing a third as much.
 I was very impressed.

Yes, I had the 10 footer, I kept it for a week. The 1st time out in the waves, it felt very corky. I slipped off the side and hit my knee on the rail and it split a 1 1/2" gap through the bamboo. My co- worker bought the 12' board and it has much better proportions with thinner rails and better rocker. If your using it for flat water, I would say it would be fine, but for surfing, pass!

Talked to a guy in San Diego that absolutely loved his. Didn't get a chance to paddle it myself. I think it was 12' and it was on flat water.

I'd be curious to hear anyone's experience with their 12'6...

their website & videos say that their boards are both lighter & more durable than others on the market... but I'm skeptical since everywhere else, a lighter board equates to a more fragile board.
