I've been working on some of the same stuff as Beasho. I surf a right a lot as a goofy and I'm working on catching the wave with paddle on the right to be better set up. My legs are really out of balance so I've been paddling in surf stance, regular foot to rest my left leg, which I favor. Makes for longer sessions and eventually I feel like I'll be able to surf switch stance.
From what I hear being out of balance can contribute to injury so I try to work on matching the sides up.
