Or you can always try it without one of those fancy suits or a parachute.....

Travis Pastrana Skydives without a Parachute
....and hope you didn't piss off your buddies earlier in the day.

I've been watching Pastrana in his current Nationwide series ride in NASCAR, and there is no way that his sponsors and team would let him do something like that again, no way in hell.

It takes a quiver to do that.

Surprised it was not contractually forbidden, That sort of stuff usually is, no flying, no horse racing, no rock climbing and so on.

I'm pretty sure it is, he's been in the Xtreme business for a very long time, but this is only his second year in NASCAR, which is a 9 month season.
It takes a quiver to do that.

Their Gopros flattened the terrain out and made their following shots look like they had tremendous glide ratio when in fact the terrain was steep enough to support the steep glide ratio those guys are stuck with.  But they were close to the ground.  They've obviously done their homework on the terrain topography to allow themselves to get that close.

There were very low aspect hang gliders at one time that flew much faster than regular low sink rate gliders.  They did close to ground flying for a bit, slower than these bat suit guys, but pretty damn fast.  Faster means you need quick response time.  IMO this is for young guys, I'd say up to around 40.  You need to be cocky as hell and feel like you're some kind of golden child.

I was that way till I was around thirty.  Now just paddling with a speed range from 4-18 mph across a channel to another island seems like quite a challenge.  SUP was a sport I could safely take up at 56.

It feels like the difference between double chocolate fudge and brown rice.  It makes backcountry riding in avalanche country look tame by comparison.

Great vid.  Thanks SEA

Kind of a high risk "follow the leader"
and hope the leader knows where he is going
