Recycle your broken boards

Here's a guy on Oahu making broken boards into chairs, pretty neat! It needs a beer holder though  ;)

There's plenty of recyclable old windsurfing equipment around.

Pretty cool - he should have used shafts from broken paddles for the arms...

Here's one made of some old boards (sorry my daughter would not get off the chair for a pic of just the chair).

Those are great! It's giving me some ideas. Craigslist here I come!

These reminded me of some stuff I found Herbie Fletcher doing. A little more abstract. He also paints on boards.

My son's toddler bed;

It's not made of broken boards but might inspire such a creation?  Definitely recommend a wood frame and use the boards as cladding.  Any concerns with a toddler sleeping so close to the foam (fumes)?

That's our employee, Vince making the chairs from warrantied buckled boards.
He also makes some really nice carbon gopro handles from our recycled carbon shaft cutoffs.
He basically mounts a fcs plug on one end and a leash plug on the other.  The handles are super light, strong, they float and are very popular.  We will post them on our website soon.

Here are a few more chairs that Vince made, the last one is made from a broken skimboard.

Cool stuff Robert!  I also like the GoPro handles, I thought of doing that since I also collect cutoffs from our local shop.  I don't use the GoPro handheld though but maybe I could make an extended mount for my board, I'll try!

Anybody with a broken board in the northeast that doesn't want it let me know...it would be interesting to make something. I've built a few chairs but all from wood.

Arts and Crafts Adirondack for my wife

Funny..I had to dig into my old photobucket account for these pics and you can see the change in my interests from woodworking to SUP over the course of a year or so....all because I built a couple of paddles. First almost all woodworking, then a mix for a bit marrying the two interests...then all SUP. I haven't touched my tools in ages....bought a big brand new band saw just before I found SUP.....collecting dust in the shed. I am building a collection of antique handtools to possibly use when I get too old to paddle but hope that day never comes.

BTW....any big guys that are tired of breaking store bought easy chairs after a couple of years and want to build a chair that will last generations I have the plans I created for that 1st chair. All pegged or wedged mortice and tenon, no screws, or nails and it would take a bomb to break it.

I'd like to see Raf's take on a surf/SUP chair....amazing woodwork (beautiful whale tail chair in his shop) and he shapes...be cool to see the fusion.
