Not mine. But had to share it.

It looks as though the surfer is in that foam, about center in the picture.

Follow the leash from the rear of the board, up through the wave.  Then it curves left, comes back down through the lip, to his ankle.

Oh, way cool "Dangerous".  Now when somebody asks, "What do you mean you got "spin-cycled"?"....I finally have something to show them. :)

That's going to hurt.
Is that you (the one making the drop) CS???  That's a dredger.  I like it he has his cap on in that size surf.  Yeah the other guy is toast.

HM, in my dreams!
Just a pic I pulled off FB.

Do you think that board broke in half, or into thousands of pieces?

Jimmie Hepp has great pics up, too.

I've seen a pic of a guy in the tube with a board going right over his head.  Guy in the tube had his hand over his head just in case the other board dropped.

Had another session at same spot this morning and crowd had increased to three of us.  Less consistent than yesterday but still had sets.  Sit down waits were sometimes 5 mins and during those times it felt like vertigo flat light in some glassy mill pond.   Disturbances in the water made us wonder.  There are tons of green sea turtles and they stick their heads up often.   But when we heard a splash and turned just in time to only see that splash... well we'd lift our legs out of the water.  Then out of nowhere a set would appear.  Long left fades with a down the line set ups when it hit the shallow part of the reef.  Eight hours the last two days and I'm toast.

Swell is fading fast and wind is forecast to return.  Been quite a run.

HM, thanks for the sharing!  A windless session on a big day at an outer reef on Maui....Life Is Good!

How did I miss this thread during the first 2 pages?!? I used to be a tragic SUP surfer...

Check out my YouTube channel "Eccosmitty". I put a gag reel of wipeouts in every surf vid just to keep me grounded!
