Advice on traction pads
« on: January 25, 2013, 01:29:50 PM »

Aloha all you.

Its been a while since I bought pads to install. I know I want something with serious traction. I do not want the big one pices deck with single groves. I think last years naish pads where the best I've ever had. This year has a tad less traction..still good, but not as much. Last years your feet had to get used to it...but it had serious traction.

This is for a 7'2'' SIMSUP...so it has a wide tail..the board is wide with a wide nose. I want to avoid the wax since my car is not a huge fan of wax on everything. :-)

I have a private reserve of X-trax waiting for my new L-41 S4. Not sure what I'm going to do for stomp pad. I have shapers choice going on my board color so stomp pad will need to match the final product.

"Big Ed's Private Reserve"

Big Ed has all the hook ups.  Private reserve is nothing new for him as he's used to all that special treatment.

As for pads, X-Trak all the way!  By far the best out there.  I need to get me a private reserve stash of X-Traks for future SUPs.  Time for me to pick up the phone and call Big Ed.

Josh, you'll have to try mine out again barefoot. Tons 'o grip!  Got her way tipped over today and was saved by the x-Trak.

I agree.  I had it on one of my other boards and it was by far my favorite, and I loved it barefoot.
I can't go barefoot yet as I'm battling this dang ingrown  toenail on my big toe and sand keeps getting into it and get infected.  I should be good in a month.

Is it just me, or does VGT actually have no photos of their traction pads on the website?

It's not just you. I have just emailed them to find out the meaning of color/graphics. There is a VGT Surf Commercial on Youtube that they say the riders have no wax on their boards just the VGT traction pads
