So...as predicted by more than one Zoner, there could be a carbon 8'0" for sale eventually.
(Don't hold your breath, JeanG)

See I told you! Now, the difference is, when it is pretty flat you still have to keep that 7-7 moving ever so slightly if you want to be sure to stay standing, whereas you can actually stop and relax on the 8. But I never really stood to relax on the 8 anyways, I'd rather sit like a proner, save my energy, and attract less attention, and if you are in the middle of a set, then you will be moving around anyways.

I think I have to hold on to mine (or another SUP board at least, but the 8' is a lot easier to pack around than the PR) so my wife has something to paddle in the summer when I get suckered into a flatwater paddle (which yes, will now probably be on the 7-7) or the odd time she seems to want to SUP-surf.

It's the inaugural family day long weekend here, and thankfully we got some swell, grey and gloomy but we'll take it!

14..  I shouted to my wife; "We're f'ing moving.  I just saw the longest wave of my life!!"  I was like a cat looking at a goldfish bowl.  Fun.

... I do envy your waveform out NW. We almost never get to say 'glass' and 'wave' in the same sentence.

Keep in mind the river nearby this location is puking snow melt all day, which sets up on top of the salt water and freezes you. But yeah, only one direction gets in here, so it stays pretty nice. If only it wasn't so gloomy so there was some contrast!

Strand Leper should play the lottery, or take up fortune telling.

So there I was today out at Cardiff reef in 1 to 2 foot glassy conditions, on my 7'7" having a blast! Tim called it right... She has become my everyday board.

A 7'7"x 27" daily driver.....whoa. :o

So Craig, you see an even shorter "ripper" coming to a quiver near you anytime soon....maybe something approaching the 6-foot mark?

I promise that I will make the 8hr trek from Whislter to the beaches of Vic Isle at some point this June. I'm sure the water will be straight balmy by then.

I'm curious whether we can make the 7'4" work... You first Cardiff...

14, I have an inside invite to try a prototype SB 7'4"x28.5"x3.4".
That's thin, and might not float me, as I don't know the displacement.  Worth a shot. (No timeframe. But the owner is out on the SUWT with it.)

I still have the 6'6"x30".  That's a platform in comparison.

I wonder which one would turn out to be more fun... the 7-7 or that wider 7-4?  Adding 1.5" back into the equation but thinning and shortening it out... hmm, I'd have to think the 7-7 would still be faster and more fun?
