When considering a supper club, I view these issues, in this exact order:

Depth and breadth of wine list;
Care and handling of wines, including an audit of their emergency generator(s) for the wine vault;
Quality of the Sommelier;
Quality and variety of red wine glasses;
Age of waitresses;
Hotness of waitresses;
Ability of the hostess to procure entertainment;
Food available;
Proximity to surf.

Hope that helps.

We loosely started a sup club with a facebook account. Stand Up Portland(SUP) . Paddlers use it to inform others to join up in a paddle and info on other happenings. Would like to have training schedual and a nice wine rack with a hostess in case Strand visits again. No age requirements so far, I think even Ponobill has attended
SUPs events.
