Solution to super slippery deck pad
« on: October 25, 2014, 06:26:54 PM »
My nsp cocomat's deck pad is slippery like glass probably due to the sunscreen I put on my legs. Are there any easy solutions? Thanks in advance

Hi Running Bull,
I've seen this happen to other board as well and it doesn't have to be sunscreen, it can just be dirt/grime form use. Either way I've had success with a couple of different approaches. The lesser approach is to scrub your deck pad with dish soap and a scrubby sponge. Do this and rinse a few times and see if that helps.  If that doesn't work option two is to gently rough up the surface of the deck pad with sand paper.  Too fine a sand paper won't rough the pad up enough, to course can be damaging. I'd try 100-150 grit and some common sense.  Good luck, let us know how it works out.

Try a light waxing, that seems to work for me.
