The dirty 2nd .. Wow.. 32 years in a row I've driven 8 hours to be a part of the Merimbula Classic and I'm sure that after checking out my pictures you will under stand why.

Two boards and a bike.. My 12'6" Glide.. my 10'6" Nalu.. and my new Fat Bike.

First stop was Can River for a pie.

Once at Eden I know I'm almost there.

There at last.

I drove down to check out the beach and I spotted this giant mouse.

Are YOU looking at ME?

I first checked out the Pambula end of the beach.

Pambula river mouth.. What a beautiful spot.

Driving out of Pambula there is always kangaroos everywhere.

In one end.. and out the other.

Ooh look.. Maltesers.

Back to Merimbula lake/inlet.

Back at Merimbula main beach.

Nothing better than a week of southern comfort.. up north.. I've stayed at this place for most of the 32 years that i've been coming here.

Now to unload.

Once unlacked and my bike was back together I did a quick ride before it got dark.

It's a beautiful spot with a surf beach one side and flat water inlet on the other side... I'll sleep well tonight.

DavidJohn:
Day one in Merimbula (Tue 20th Nov) I went for a quick ride into town to buy a few things from the supermarket and stock up my little fridge.

First stop was to say hi to Simon in the local surf shop.

Then it was back to get my board and hit the water... and take some pictures.

That's day one done and dusted.. The Merimbula classic is a four day event (thursday to sunday) and people are staring to arrive.. It's going to be huge.

Way cool. Thanks for posting a great look into that place down under.....once again.
The pie shop......is that like shepherds pie?
The entrance to the park and the 4 yellow signs. Second one looks like...rip current? What do those signs stand for?
I am sure more pics and video over the next week to look forward to.

I do miss the Aussie girls on the beach... made you wonder sometimes, why you were paddling out.... away from them :D

32 years with the same event!  Great history and I'll bet you sure have seen it change over time.  It would be neat to see some early pics too.  Have a great time!
