Last(?) "warm" downwinder of season in Toronto on Sunday Nov. 18
« on: November 08, 2012, 01:06:12 PM »
Forecasts are predicting a partly sunny day with a high of 15 degrees C on Sunday. That alone makes it a nice day to paddle. Winds are supposed to be  SW 15-17mph from 7am to 4pm.

I'm planning to do a short (about 8km round trip) out and back "downwinder" (no car shuttle) from Cherry Beach in Toronto. I can go at either 7/7:30am or 2/2:30pm. We can either paddle through the Toronto Island channels on the upwind leg to make it easier or just paddle upwind directly before turning around for the downwind leg.

Here's a link to a route map:

The route is the red one that goes through Toronto Island. Click on the link below the small map to open a larger map then zoom in for details.

Let me know if anyone's interested.
