7 mile excursion on a Surf SUP
« on: October 26, 2012, 07:20:56 AM »
Don't have a dedicated flat-water board???
Not to worry... a Surf SUP will do just fine... well... most of them.

Yesterday it was so nice, I trunked it for a 7 mile Pleasant Bay tour.

I'd really like to see more photo tours of your paddles... bring camera's !

It's simple, either you get the wave or the wave gets you.

Looks like a spectacular day to have been out, regardless of what you were on!

This is a good reminder why a person needs to bring a camera along when going out. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the pictures, awesome images, very inspiring. I concur with you, surf sup can go the distance. It'll be a nicer workout though ! Been doing exactly the same, even...downwinders !

Wow! Lovely pics.

Couldn't be much more different than my 7-miler today: dark and overcast, rain, cold NE wind, air 8C...too dark for my camera to take decent pictures even if I thought any of you would want to see them. Which you wouldn't.

Thanks for reminding me of what I haven't got!

But seriously, thanks for sharing. Beautiful.

Nice pics!  Looks like Narrow River in some places.
You miss 100 percent of the shots you never take.

I often think about places to paddle when I'm done SUSing in South County.
Narrow River looks like it would be great. Protected on an an E or W wind.
Got any pictures to share ?

Creek... the Hog Island photo. Is that when I talked to you on the phone? After I talked to you I did a 5 mile island loop my way.

You don't need a displacement board to go on expeditions. I did 18 miles with three other people on all-arounders recently.

Sometimes you just have to get out on what you've got and not worry if it's the “perfect” equipment for the situation.

I am looking forwards to getting a displacement board, however. The problem will be then that when I paddle with other people, I'll be doing a lot of waiting around.

Great shots as always, Rick. Definitely inspired to finally start taking pictures next time I go out. It's hard not to get lost in the paddling aspect of it.
