My land line and Internet are out now, but at least I have power. Now I can start grading papers. Joy!

The storm had P R pumping also.
Wilderness about maxed out, 10-14' plus, for a while there.

Pics from Ocean city MD.  My friend is born and raised in Maryland and he said in his 65 years of life he has never seen it this big.

Cape Cod went off today.... ;D
Clean, powerful, sunny and light offshores...
and I was on a schedule ALL day... Tide too low and dangerous till 10am
Had to feed my client at 12 noon
Daughter & friend HAD to be in Boston before 3... got home at 7pm
So I grabbed my camera for 45 minutes and recorded the action.
Couple of SUPs getting some... but SUPER tough for SUP, so only a few shots.
Most breaks were super tubes, thick lips into 2' of water.... great for folding boards.
BUT there was a very SUPable left into the channel (last Pic).... damn Murphy was pulling my strings today....I had to leave... :'(

First picture sets the tone...

JimK... good to hear from you... you got wacked....I'm thinking of you buddy!

great shots, rick!  love that left at the end.  i might have even given that one a try.

and, thanks for those of me from a day or two ago.  that's the best i've done on that new board.  day 2, yesterday, i was a freaking wreck.  spent my last 20 minutes just yelling f***, as i missed wave after wave.  mo' today!

hope to see you down here again soon!

Hey guys, just wanted to let everyone know because I haven't seen anyone else post from my area (LBI, NJ) yet but as I'm sure you've seen from photos and the news that pretty much all of the barrier islands of NJ have been completely devastated. My house is about 1/2 mile from the Barnegat Bay and I'm one of the lucky ones to have it still standing, no flooding and I have power restored.  I consider myself extremely lucky. Homeowners and Business owners on Long Beach Island still have not been back to their homes to assess damages and most likely won't be for another week or more. The National Guard are there now protecting homes from looters who are trying to enter the island by boat under the cover of darkness....it's bad. There are new inlets, gas fires, sand everywhere, boats piled up like toys, gas and oil spillage and devastating bridge damages. Our beautiful beaches, waterways and fishing is destroyed as we know it.

I just wanted to let you all know since there isn't a huge NJ presence on this board what is going on. There's so much destruction it looks like a war zone over here. There is a huge surf community along the Jersey Shore and especially Long Beach Island. Local surf/clothing company Jetty has designed a relief t-shirt which will go to the victims of the storm and aid rebuilding the area us New Jersians know and love. Check out jettylife.com to donate.

If there is anyone local to me (Waretown) that still doesn't have power, hit me up for a warm shower, place to stay or even to recharge your cell.

Hey everyone. Day 4 on a generator, so things are tolerable. I'm at Applebee's getting caught up on the Zone and other news sources. My thoughts are with all you along the coast areas who are worse off. Thanks for the updates. Saw some crazy footage on in Long Beach where CRT and I surf. Streets flooded... with sand! It got me thinking, anyone heard from Reid? He lives like a block from the beach. Be safe and patient everyone!
