Man, I really feel for you guys. Unlike Katrina, we're seeing very little coverage of it here in the Midwest.

Best of luck.

Anyone know how to get ahold of Mike at Unsound Surf in Long Beach NY?

Apparently folks there lost everything... as we know.

I am trying to get ahold of him to figure out how to get clothing donations to him and the local community.

His e-mail is down.

I figure, maybe we can do something here collectively on the Zone as soon as we figure out how to get clothes and necessities there... and how to get them distributed.  Already donated to the Red Cross... want to do something a little more direct.

Anyone?

Hey Tim,

I know Mike and Dave @ Unsound, if you can organize something I can get it in the right hands, NYSEA is also selling t-shirts with 100% going to relief efforts.

Thanks Reid,  Good to hear that you're ok.  Thanks for the info on NYSEA - just sent them a donation.  Hope LB doesn't get hit too hard with this Nor'easter - we already have 3 inches on the ground in northern NJ and just waiting for the power to go out again...

Just to give my fellow zoners a peak into what happened in my neck of the woods, here's a few snaps I took of what Long Beach looks like now  >:(

I used to get my beach pass punched at this booth in the summer

Bathrooms on the beach once stood there

Another bath house

straight view

I can't believe how much sand is in the streets

All the ramps look like this

Boats in places where boats aren't supposed to be, this one has the dock still tied to it

more destruction, cars got carried by the strong waters and waves

my car didn't make it

oceanside

Reid is okay, but lots of his mates aren't. I am getting together a donation package of warm clothes that I am sending to his parents' house. Reid will pick up and distribute from there.  Any locals that want to add to my pack can drop them by my office at 1100 n Tustin, SU 200 Anaheim.  Or at my house ... Pm me and I will put you on the list.

I'f you want to get a care pack together, you can pm Reid for his parents' address.

Do you really need five fleece pullovers.

How long has it been since you wore that ski jacket?

Really, UGG boots... They don't work for you.

Make it happen Zoners.

Send them to the folks in need!

Reid, are there specific items you guys need or just general warm clothes? I can make a collection at school besides raising my closets.
