 Heard the news last-night; Super-Bummer!!!  I had met him a few times years ago. He was always so genuine... RIP Donald.       Paddle on;   JD

Man that sucks.....I think I'm going to hang my Takayama longboard on the wall now and just surf it on special occasions.

Donald was an incredible person, and his Oceanside CA shop is my favorite "candy store" of all real board shops. Incredible craftsman.

Incredible things he gave the sport, and his original spoon nose and kicked tail helped give David Nuuhiwa a world champoinship win. Joel Tudor rode his boards to fame and longboard championship wins.

Above all, he was a nice and humble guy, and often talked story as you checked out his beautiful masterpieces.
