Kayadogg- Funny how you described the feeling similar to Christmas. That's exactly how I described it to the owner of my local coffee shop about an hour ago.

My 11' PSH is my go to board, if its going to be big, may try my 9'6"PSH

PDLSFR just sent me this: :) : http://magicseaweed.com/1st-Beach-Eastons-Beach-Surf-Report/907/

Looks like an early season front will be swinging through the southeast at the end of the week which could turn the winds offshore in Florida and groom those waves at the same time that Leslie will be increasing in strength and pushing slowly north.

I'll be locked and loaded with both Allwaves 9'6 and 9'10
I will be using the 9'6.... the 9'10 is just for backup
I will have 3 paddles, 4 leashes, spare fins, a camera and a bottle of Motrin.

and gas money.

I fully intend to log at least 1,000 mile chasing this swell around southern New England.
Just one run to area 53 is a 250 mile round trip.

Both daughters are off to college, my boss is on board.... I'll work when I can ;)

Wind is going to be the elephant in the room.

Until Leslie passes by, the predominantly S/E flow does not set up well for the entire region. Timing will be critical. Early morning or as it switches direction. It is key to have good wind intel.

I already have a battle plan mapped out based on the very active wind projections. Subject to change as conditions evolve... the cliche' is "Fluid"... it's already changed since this morning.

Good hunting "Zoners".... post pics ;D

Hurricane swell arrived in Maine this afternoon.  I got 45 minutes in of 16 second period stuff, nice power, some head high sets.  The peak swell isn't expected for another 5 days, so I'm not really sure how big this is going to get exactly, but its going to be BIG :D

Carib,

I would stop and grab some before you head back south.  Surf looks best at Indi and Sebastian on Sunday.

Leslie's HERE.... hey wait a minute--- this is a close out NORTH swell ???

Remember Kirk.... Leslie's older brother???

He grew up far away from here, but I think this North Swell is his.

Got some size... threw in a pic of a kiter for reference to the sets.

Windy, tough swell direction.... gonna require some local driving, but not too hopeful for today.

Very sloppy out in Newport as of 9:45am, blown out so far but waves are definetly picking up size and power.

Parsed all the info I could:
Cruised the cams...went to the beach...
North swell, closing out --- 20 to 30 mph winds today
Onshore for south coast... rubbish down there.

Decided this was the day to miss...
Opted to work this afternoon and build credits for later in the week

So I saw a doctor this morning...double ear infections.... suffered all Labor Day weekend
as I was leaving she said "Stay out of the water for a week" ....Ha! ;D ;D ;D ;D sure...ok!

High tide now... looking pretty good between lightning strikes. :-\

Hope tomorrow morning is good, I'll be near the spot we almost surfed together... but you got there early and left the water to do a paddle demo as I drove by... hint, hint ;)

%#@!!*& it's looking pretty good right now, the wind has eased and tide is right...
Murphy is hard at work >:(
