Smooth SUP

What's the word on these? I am looking to buy my first board and local shop is selling their boards plus carbon composite paddle for 899. I plan on using it in surf and flat water. Ideally I will "upgrade" in a year or so. Anyone have any experience or opinions on the Smooth boards as an entry level board?
