Best thin reef booties?
« on: July 25, 2012, 03:19:08 PM »
I am looking for a very thin low cut bootie for warm water -- with either a round toe or split toe, but not 5-finger-ish. I prefer sensitivity over major protection; I am just looking to avoid reef cuts on my feet.

I have these - used them in Tavarua - they ruled.
They are 2 mm - but they are also "perforated" so they stay nice and cool.

XCEL 1mm split toe reef booties. Look no further.
In theory, there should be no difference between theory and practice, but in practice, there is...

Most are pretty similar, but I've had my Rip Curls for 5 years and they still have some life left.

Our friend GP uses these, they look like superfreaks, and that's in the warm waters of Bali,,,,,,,,,, the dog.
Just envious.

It takes a quiver to do that.

I use the Oneil Ninja booties.  Very thin sole, more like a sock than a booties.  Love them on the SUP where I normally hate any booties.

You asked about warm water and my sock type are boot high.  So, I didn't list the sock type bootie.  But, they are the most comfortable while still giving you the feel of the board.  I don't wear them in the summer.  I reserve looking stupid for the cooler months.  I've worn several brands.  So this is an endorsement of the type, not the brand.
