If the logo is only meant to be recognized by fellow zoners, there's no need for it to mean anything to anyone else.  It could just be a plain "Z" or actually any arbitrary symbol, like a pickle or a " ".

I like AJR's sketch. I also like the idea of an identifier of zone addicts...I thought about drawing a pickle from outer space but I didn't want to take anyone else's ideas

I was waiting for that one , I remember living in PB and thats all you see on the streets in terms of license plates anyway ( well in the summer time that is). Its like a second language in San Diego "effin Zonies" , no offense to you Arizonians, I too have lost lots of money in the Arizona real estate market  , but never lived there

For my group a "Zoner" was someone who was "zoned out"... you know,  Spicoli-esk. "That guy has been high since the third grade"

Kinda like the "zoner" logo for the double entendre
