zoners in the water
« on: July 24, 2012, 09:33:18 AM »
how many of you guys recognize other zoners  when you are out surfing? I talk to standups all the time  but never know if they are on here.

Encouragement to join our cult?  I love this forum but wouldn't want to get any friends of mine hooked on this.  I feel like an addict.

I mostly don't have any idea who is who but I suspect alternate identities all the time. ;D

I've only ever asked one other person if they were "on the zone", they looked at me like I was on crack. I no longer ask.

If I'm close enough to talk, I ask.  I've met a few.  It is nice to meet other zoners.   Some gave me a strange look.  Okay.  Overall, I feel like this person might be a zoner friend.  So, I should say hello.  If not, maybe I can help get them addicted to the zone.  You know you get a month free, if you sign someone up.

Very few in my local waters despite my encouragement ! Met a few people who browse as guests and used to see Superdave on occasion.

I usually mention PonoBill. ;)

Actually I've run into a ton, usually introduced by others or at an event. But in Hanalei one time I ran into some guys who knew Bill and talk turned to the Zone.

I usually ask, "Do you read any paddling or surfing forums online?" If so, it's the Zone, if not, I recommend.

We need to get someone on here that makes stickers to do a batch of Zone stickers for our boards and cars and stuff. That way we don't have to ask people "if they are on the zone" and get the look like we are crazy from those that don't understand.
