Nikki Gregg, Standup Paddle Fitness Professional speaks with Nutrition Expert Tish Berman about Fueling your Workout.  They discuss how our bodies absolutely DO need carbohydrates to balance our diet, especially athletes. Tish's point was that we need to stay away from simple sugars, processed carbs, or on relying TOO heavily on carbs (ex: 'carb loading) and discounting the necessity of fats and proteins in our training. Carbs are a necessity, but choose the right ones. Carb Loading is bogus science.

I drink vita coco,  2 drinks the night before and 2 more the morning of a race and one just before the race. I don't even take a hydration pack with me if its anything below hour and a half.

Morning of  Drink a big protein shake with 2 raw eggs and some coconut oil (whey protein Isolate 100%)  3 scoops about 74 grams of protein with unsweetened almond milk.

Good to GO !!!!

i drink a ton of water the week of for long distance 15 miles or more. the night before i have a normal pasta dinner with veggies and a salad. the day of more water and some eggs and  toast with a little butter nothing heavy or to much.
