Naish Bamboo Construction
« on: November 11, 2013, 03:17:23 PM »
I have had a couple Naish boards with no issues (but not bamboo) but was told today that the earlier Naish bamboo boards(2010-?) were:

1.   Made in China, not at Cobra factory (not necessarily bad, just less history)
2.   More prone to delamination with modest heat, particularly on the bottom, than rest of Naish (AST etc), or some other constructions

I have had friends with a 2010 bamboo Hokua with no issues.

I am in no way trying to slander, just trying to make informed buying decisions as I tend to buy 2nd hand.

Thank you.

Don't get the Naish bamboo boards - advice to a friend of mine from someone who sells 'em! Omerta keeps me from revealing more!

Yes,  I am attempting repair on one now.

Good practice for me for a price ~ that of new blank.

Wondering if general problem (or just one year) as I always liked the look and weight of the Naish bamboo and Naish makes some sweet boards.

I had a 10' Mana in the bamboo for a couple of years.. and used it heaps.. Had no problems at all except the deck grip back then was a little slippery.

Sounds like if follow reasonable protocol they are probably fine...

and don't leave in black bag in heat bottom up for two days like the board I am working on experienced!
