I think I’ll be eating a fair amount of steelhead trout this summer.

And it only takes 4 rednecks to help lift it onto your Chevette's roofrack...

I've seen several on the river and they seem ideal for fishing and much better than a dedicated fishing rigged kayak.  The Jackson rig is not really designed to paddle while standing and the Liquid Logic versa board would be a better standup paddling craft for fishing.

If you are a hard core fisherman, then go with the Coosa.  If you want to stand up paddle and drink beer while wetting a hook, then consider the Versa

We ended up getting a couple of Coosas and have done a handful of 8 mile river runs now.  The river has a mix of running water and mellow class 1-ish rapids with 1-2.5 foot wave trains.  We don't bring the Coosa seat and use our standard length KeNalu SUP paddles.  For that type or river fishing or for a lake (you could easily leave the seat in for a lake and still SUP) they make a great SUP fishing board.  But...they could be so much better if they were tweaked just a little for SUP.

The biggest downside is that the front support for the seat is right in the middle of what could be a larger and wider standing area.  If that alone were changed...

Also, with the seat gone, you end up standing where your tackle would otherwise go.  For a SUP model (which would not need the seat or the current foot pedals) a tackle holder and the rods holder could go forward where the foot pedals currenty are.
